India’s DPDP Act, 2023 has no separate “cookie statute” like the EU ePrivacy rules, but cookies that process personal data need a lawful basis (usually consent) before analytics or ads run.
What we use
- Necessary — cart, checkout, login session, security. These run to provide the shop you asked for.
- Preferences — language or consent choice stored in your browser.
- Analytics — Google Analytics or similar, if enabled in WP Admin. These can identify a device or approximate location. They stay off until you accept analytics on the banner.
- Marketing — Meta / Google / Pinterest / Snapchat / Reddit pixels if those plugins are active. Off until you accept marketing.
How to choose
Use the cookie banner (Accept all / Necessary only). You can also block cookies in the browser. Necessary cookies cannot be refused if you want to log in or check out.
Third parties
Payment: Razorpay. Login: Google via Nextend, if you use social login. Chat: WhatsApp / Meta. Ads plugins listed in WP Admin (Google for WooCommerce, Pinterest, Reddit, Snapchat) may set cookies if you accept marketing.
Storage
Your banner choice is stored locally as ed_cookie_consent for up to 180 days. Withdraw by clearing site data or clicking Necessary only on a later visit after deleting that key.
