False Ceiling FAQs
How much height does a false ceiling reduce?
A standard false ceiling typically reduces room height by 8–12 inches (20–30 cm). For rooms with a height of 10 feet or above, this is rarely noticeable. For rooms below 9 feet, we recommend a minimal flat ceiling to preserve headroom.
Which is better — gypsum or POP false ceiling?
Gypsum board is generally preferred for modern homes — it is more moisture-resistant, crack-resistant and has a cleaner finish. POP (Plaster of Paris) is better for intricate moulding and cove designs. We recommend gypsum for flat and tray ceilings and POP for decorative coves.
Can false ceiling be done in the kitchen or bathroom?
Yes — we use moisture-resistant gypsum boards for kitchens and bathrooms, which are specifically designed to handle humidity. Aluminium grid ceilings with PVC tiles are also an excellent option for wet areas.
